Botanical Art Workshop with Jessie Rose Ford

Saturday 21 April, 10am – 1.30pm

Jessie Rose Ford is an award-winning artist based in Melbourne. She specialises in watercolour painting and grey lead drawing of botanical subjects, rendering her works in impressive realism. Now with over 2 years experience teaching her botanical art techniques, Jessie will embark on a journey teaching workshops around Australia. She is delighted to share her knowledge, connect with communities and build new relationships all while exploring more of our beautiful country and it’s diverse natural environments.

In this workshop Jessie will guide you through her step-by-step process to create your own botanical painting.

You will gain an understanding in:
-How to draw your subject accurately
-Transferring your drawing onto watercolour paper
-Observing light, shade and form
-Basic colour theory
– Matching and mixing the correct colour
-Watercolour techniques including wet-in-wet, blending and dry brush
-An appreciation for the minutiae of nature!

This workshop welcomes students of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced.
